At Parklands Community Church we believe in a shared and servant leadership. The leadership team are responsible for the smooth running of the church, and together they provide oversight for Parklands Community Church.
Our current leadership team is made up of:
- Jenny Thorpe
- Andrew Dean
- Alex Thorpe
Jenny Thorpe
I’m Jenny and I’m one of the leaders at Parklands Community Church. I have been a leader since 2017 but remember prayer walking around the new development back in 2011.
I’m married to Alex and we moved with our family to the area in 2018 and have loved being part of the community and getting to know people.
You may recognise me from the Parklands Pop Up Cafe or maybe the Advent Windows. I enjoy organising things to bring people together and I’m particularly focused on our value “flourishing with our communities”.
I enjoy crafts, especially crochet. I also like making cakes, as well as eating them! We have two boys and a gorgeous Cavapoo called Lucy, you may see us walking around, do stop and say hi.
Andrew Dean
Andrew is part of the leadership team for Parklands Community Church. He has been involved with the church here since it began in 2012.
Andrew is originally from West Sussex, moving to Somerset with his wife Debbie, over 30 years ago. They have been part of the wider Parklands Community since moving to the immediate area in March 2013.
Andrew became a Christian as a teenager.
Andrew has previously served on the leadership team at Worle Baptist Church.
Alex Thorpe

I’m Alex (the one married to Jenny) and I am one of the leaders at Parklands Community Church, and I have lived in Flowerdown since May 2018. Like Jenny and Andrew, I was involved in the initial prayer walks about the site in 2011, and part of the Worle Baptist Church leadership team from 2013-16 before transferring to the Parklands leadership team.
I became a Christian when I was 14 years old, and have lived and worked in Weston-super-Mare since 2005, having moved down from Wymondham in South Norfolk.
I’m a massive fan of all sports, especially American Football, cricket and cycling.
