We had great fun making gifts and hope you did too. Well done to everyone who came out in the snow. You made some fabulous things, and hope your mums have a great mothers’ day.
Gifts for Mum are back!
The weekend before Mother’s Day, get organised and bring the children along to The Radio Wing to make handmade cards and crafts for the special woman in their lives. We recognise that Motherhood takes lots of forms – so come and make something for your mother, grandmother, auntie, carer, or anyone else you want to say “thank you” to.
Come on down to The Radio Wing on Saturday 3 March from 3-5pm. This is a free event, and free drinks and cakes will also be available. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Commissioning Service
Join us on Saturday 7 October as we formally welcome and commission our new Community Pastor, Claire Roberts. See our Facebook event for more details.
Shared lunch and community meeting
Next Sunday (13 August) come and join us for a shared lunch and community meeting after our Sunday Gathering. It is a chance for those who have been involved in or attended Parklands Community Church over the past four months to come together, reflect and feedback, so we can review and plan for the future together. All welcome.
Make something for Dad at Parklands Community Church
The Sunday before Father’s Day we’re following up on our successful Mother’s Day Craft event by offering the chance for you to bring your kids along to make a hand-made gift and card for the dads in your life! It’s FREE, with refreshments and cake.
Go to our Facebook event for more information.
Special presents for the mums of Parklands
Last Saturday, 25th March, we had our first public event in the new Radio Wing Community Centre and approximately 20 children made a variety presents for their mums for Mother’s Day the following day.
On a gloriously sunny day, we offered a number of different fun activities for children of all ages including:
Card making – using cupcake cases and buttons to make a flower to stick to a card.
Treasure chests – decorating little boxes with “jewels” to put chocolate hearts in.
Hand banners – cutting out handprints to stick to a “happy mother’s day” banner.
Sweet flowers – combining marshmallows, smarties and a skewer to make a flower lolly.
Lego – a load of Lego to play with for those who weren’t interest in crafts.
Everyone who came were also treated to free cakes and refreshments!
The next event from Parklands Community Church is our annual “Good Friday on the Green” event on April 14th, before we hold our first Sunday morning gathering in the Radio Wing on Easter Sunday morning (which we are very excited about). Remember to “Like” our Facebook page for the latest event news!
Pancake fun
The Locking Craftlands group, along with their families, had a fun morning of making and eating pancakes at Andrew and Debbie’s home today. The children had fun playing with Lego and Jenga in the lounge, while the adults compared toppings round the stove.
