It was lovely to see so many at the Parklands Pop-Up Cafe yesterday. The children were so creative with their clay and pasta crafts (pictured). Thanks for coming, and save the date of the next cafe – Saturday 13th October.
With the church about to begin looking at the story of Moses in its Sunday Gatherings, we are putting on the first Parklands Family Film Night to get together and watch the 1998 Dreamworks classic, The Prince of Egypt.
Come on down to The Radio Wing on Friday 6th September for a free night of entertainment, with hot drinks and popcorn provided. The doors open at 6.15pm, with the feature presentation starting at 6.30pm.
This coming Bank Holiday Monday, head on over to the Anson Road Park on Flowerdown Park for the second annual Bank Holiday Funday Monday. There will be something for everyone of all ages, and we at Parklands Community Church are running the cafe.
Follow the Facebook Event for the day for the latest news.
Join us at The Radio Wing on Saturday 15 June from 10am to Noon for the March Parklands Pop Up Cafe. This is a space for people from the community to get to know each other over a cuppa. There’ll also be cakes and cookies available as well as some Father’s Day Craft activities for children.
Starting from this coming Thursday (30th May) and for the following eleven days we will be joining with churches across the world in praying Thy Kingdom Come. We will be sharing the theme of the day via our Facebook page, so please get involved and #Pledge2Pray your thoughts and prayers as part of this global prayer movement.
Whether you have joined in Thy Kingdom Come before or not, we invite you to take part this year – along with churches from over 65 different denominations in 114 countries around the world.
Why not come on down to our weekly gathering at The Radio Wing at 11am on Sunday morning and pick up a prayer journal, or download the Thy Kingdom Come daily prayer app from either the App Store or the Play Store.
Following on from the popularity of our Advent Calendar windows back in December, this week we’re launching Easter Egg trails in both Flowerdown and Parklands.
From 14-20 April, take a walk and find the Easter eggs displayed in the windows of the houses on the maps. Each egg contains a word (or two) for you to collect and work out a Bible verse.
You can download PDFs of the maps here:
Bring your answers to the Parklands Pop-Up Cafe Easter Special on 20 April, 10am-noon at The Radio Wing, to claim a prize.
We’re now less than two weeks away from Easter (as you’ve probably guessed if you’ve got kids on school holidays now), and we’re counting down until the time we remember Jesus’ death and celebrate His resurrection.
On Saturday 20 April at 10am we have our regular monthly Parklands Pop-Up Cafe… but with a difference. As well as our usual cakes and drinks, we’ll have a family-friendly scavenger hunt and hot cross buns!
Then on Sunday 21 April at 11am, join us as we celebrate the Good News of Easter. We’ll start out our morning with bacon rolls, followed by a short service with activities for children.
Both events are held at The Radio Wing.
Join us at The Radio Wing on Saturday 16 March from 10am to Noon for the March Parklands Pop Up Cafe. This is a space for people from the community to get to know each other over a cuppa. There’ll also be cakes and cookies available as well as some Mother’s Day Craft activities for children.
For Lent this year, members of Parklands Community Church will be taking part in a 40 day generosity challenge! Why not join us, starting on 6 March?
You can sign up for daily challenge e-mails which will help you look for opportunities to bless other people from small to big ways. With so much negativity in our news and social media feeds, why not use these 40 days to share positivity and love instead!
Visit www.40acts.org.uk for more info or to sign up.
This week at our Pop Up Cafe, children will be able to make all sorts of creatures and creations using lollypop sticks and pegs. There’ll be bead jewellery making too.
PLUS we’re trying a new selection of cakes – come along and let us know what you think!
Saturday, 10am-12noon at The Radio Wing.
