We are looking forward to seeing everyone at 4pm for our Carols and Christingle service at The Radio Wing. Bring your neighbours, friends and family! All items for Christingles will be provided, and please stay afterwards for free refreshments.
We had great fun making gifts and hope you did too. Well done to everyone who came out in the snow. You made some fabulous things, and hope your mums have a great mothers’ day.
The weekend before Mother’s Day, get organised and bring the children along to The Radio Wing to make handmade cards and crafts for the special woman in their lives. We recognise that Motherhood takes lots of forms – so come and make something for your mother, grandmother, auntie, carer, or anyone else you want to say “thank you” to.
Come on down to The Radio Wing on Saturday 3 March from 3-5pm. This is a free event, and free drinks and cakes will also be available. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the life of Jesus, this book, the gospel of Luke, is a great place to start! Between now and Easter we will be working through the story of Jesus as told by Luke in our Sunday Gatherings and Thursday Bible Studies. If you live locally and would like a copy, email us your address and we can drop you one off, or join us any Sunday morning at 11am. All welcome.
The script is written, the props and costumes are being prepared, now all we need is our cast! Come and join in as we retell the story of Christmas this Sunday at 11am. No rehearsals or acting skills required!! Feel free to wear your own nativity character costume if you have one (spectators welcome too!).
It’ll be here before you know it… yes, Christmas is just around the corner, and we at Parklands Community Church have a whole series of events on to make your December that little bit more festive.
December 2, Christmas Crafts: At the start of December, we are offering you the chance to come and make some lovely gifts for Christmas, aimed at children aged 3+. From 2pm to 4pm at The Radio Wing there will be cards and crafts, as well as coffee and cakes, for you to come and try.
December 17, Crib Service: Come and join in as we retell the story of Christmas this Sunday at 11am. No rehearsals or acting skills required!! Feel free to wear your own nativity character costume if you have one (spectators welcome too!).
December 23, Carols and Christingle: We might be a relatively new Church, but at our Carol service tomorrow, we’ll be carrying on a 260 year old tradition of making Christmas Christingles! Join us at The Radio Wing from 4pm, for a family friendly carol service followed by refreshments
December 17 & 24, Carol Singing: Come and join us for some carol singing! Over two Thursday evenings we’ll be out singing in the community from 7pm. One week we’ll be on Locking Parklands, starting near the Muga. The next week we’ll be visiting Flowerdown and Locking Grove. We’re going to be joined by members of St Augustine’s Locking and anyone else is welcome to join in too! We’re hoping to get to wish many of you a Merry Christmas and also hoping the rain holds off!
While Halloween can be a scary time for some, we at Parklands Community Church know that “God is light, and here is no darkness in him at all” (1 John 1:5), so we will be setting up a gazebo on the green and offering out glowsticks, (electric) candles and Haribo to kids – and hot tea and coffee to parents – from 5pm to 7pm. Come and see us!
