We arranged a series of Advent windows across both Flowerdown and Parklands in the month of December, with 48 households across the estates decorating their windows.

Hallowe’en on the Green, 31 October 2017

Lovely to meet so many families out on the green this eve. We ran out of goody bags (we had 100) and almost ran out of hot chocolate too! But we had plenty of glow sticks to help everyone shine a light. Our team were also really impressed by how polite all the children and young people were that we met. A lovely night of connecting with the community.

Harvest Service, 30 September 2018

As part of our Sunday gathering at the Radio Wing, we gave thanks together, made some autumnal crafts, and took up a collection for the Weston Food Bank.

Good Friday on the Green, 30 March 2018

It was wet, very wet, for our annual Good Friday on the Green scavenger hunt… and yet still over 60 people braved the elements for a hot cross bun and an Easter Egg.

Mother’s Day Craft, 3 March 2018

Under a blanket of thick snow, we had great fun making gifts and eating cake together in the Radio Wing in our slippers.

Father’s Day Crafts, 11 June 2017

Following on from the success of our Mother’s Day craft event in March, we ran a very similar event for the community’s dads in June.

Good Friday on the Green, 14 April 2017

Part of the most important weekend on the church calendar – Easter weekend – this event also coincided with our weekly meetings starting in the Radio Wing. On Good Friday we held our annual crossword egg hunt, sharing the Easter story by way of answering a series of questions with clues dotted around the green. Much fun was had by all, with Real Easter Eggs given to participants.

Mother’s Day Craft, 25 March 2017

The day before Mother’s Day we held our first public event in the new Radio Wing Community Centre, and approximately 20 children made a variety of presents for their mums. On a gloriously sunny day, we offered a number of different fun activities for children of all ages, and everyone who came were also treated to free cakes and refreshments.

Pancake Party, 11 February 2017

The Locking Craftlands group, along with their families, had a fun morning of making and eating pancakes at Andrew and Debbie Dean’s home on Farnborough Road. The children had fun playing with Lego and Jenga in the lounge, while the adults compared toppings round the stove.
